One of the hardest things about being a small business crafter besides the marketing, is the solo condition of women entrepreneurs. Yes, we all have family and friends, but unless you’re in partnership with another woman, many of us spend our creating hours by ourselves in our offices or workspace.
It is really important for creative women to have an outlet to share and even commiserate with other women. You can find out what they’re up to, learn from them and they can learn from you. However, don’t compare your progress with theirs. Don’t compare your product or service with theirs. And don’t think that they’re a better businesswoman than you. Stay in your own lane when it comes to your goals and success. Oftentimes, when we meet with another woman, we can help her by being there to listen and, in turn, that helps us solidify our believe in our own processes. It’s a win-win.
So, keep your connections between the lines. Stay focused on how you can make your business better and what you can do to help your business prosper. Each crafter/artisan brings their own unique spin to their own product(s) and you don’t want to copy another’s product(s). However, technique and processes can always be finetuned with the help of another who has a different look. Find one thing this month that will help you either streamline your business processes or help you reorganize so that your hours spent doing the things that aren’t the most fun, take up what you really want to do…and that’s create! And while you’re getting your business streamlined, helping another woman not only blesses them, but it heaps blessings upon you and creates a cycle of selflessness which leads to success for both of you!
